Abstract
Social media has a big part to play in modern politics,1 particularly Meta platforms. Previously known as Facebook Inc, Meta has over 2.8 billion active users.2 Approximately 70 per cent of monthly visits to social media platforms are attributed to the company. The company has only recently changed its name to Meta so it will sometimes be referred to as Facebook Inc throughout this article. This is distinct from Facebook, which is one of the company’s social sites.
