Abstract
This thesis evaluates the alignment of two innovation education programmes – the Smurfit Business School Executive MBA and the University of Galway BioInnovate Masters – with the needs of a clinician seeking to address innovation in the Irish MedTech Industry. An initial literature review was conducted, which explored concepts in innovation, with a particular focus on the Irish MedTech Industry. Next, a series of semi-structured interviews with key opinion leaders in the industry identified the main drivers, barriers and enablers of innovation, by way of thematic network analysis. Finally, the Rolfe reflective model was used to assess each programme and then a comparative analysis was used to assess both programmes in the context of the industry and research question.
