Abstract
his year, politicians must do what is right by survivors and family members of deceased victims of all forms of so-called historical abuse in Ireland. It is a milestone year. The Mother and Baby Homes Commission of Investigation is to report next month and in May it will be 20 years since then taoiseach Bertie Ahern’s State apology for abuse suffered by tens of thousands of children in residential institutions.
