Synthesis and characterisation of mixed-ligand coordination polymers and metal clusters

This thesis explores the design and synthesis of novel coordination compounds (CPs) and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with potential applications in magnetism and environmental remediation. Three main projects are presented: a) the synthesis of metal clusters and investigation of their magnetic properties, b) the development of novel mixed-ligand CPs incorporating both oximic and carboxylate functionalities with a focus on their potential to uptake metals, and c) the use of novel linkers combining multiple functional groups to modulate framework geometry and properties.
